Yeah this. It’s not a speed run but it’s also clearly just rushing through to the end. Which you can do with any game, which is why ANY game CAN be speedrunned in 3 hours or less, or like 5 if they have cutscenes.

Also was this a topic to criticize the game's lenght? I did the same thing and beat XY and Let's Go in a day, and you can literally do the same with every other game of the franchise. SwSh feels shorter but it's not far from the average.

It depends how you play. If you only do battling and grab items, then don't bother catching once you've got your team, it's no longer than 10. If you do side stuff, you'll probably get closer to 20. 40 for 100% completion I imagine

I finished the game with ~27 hours, exploring 100% of every map and talking to every NPC, changing clothes in every city, getting 50 Pokémon in the Pokédex and practically ignorning the Wild Area, if this works as a parameter for someone.

I had to grind for some minutes for for Nessa since I used a Fire/Steel dualtype team in "Set" and no items.

What new mechanics? Dynamax is only usable in gyms and everything else is the exact same. Graphics are fucking 1:1 with the 3DS games as well and the Wild Area is fucking empty and full of Pokemon you can't catch unless you do the fucking gyms.

The game tricks you into thinking you can skip the how to catch thing, but Leon teaches you anyway. There's "cutscene skip" in the options, but this only effects cinematic cutscenes, so the "stop what youre doing and read this dialog every 2 minutes" gameplay is still there and is just as bad as SM.

Leon is literally the only challenge in the game, mostly because unlike every other trainer in the game, he actually has coverage on his Pokémon (and they're usually faster too) which completely catches you off guard if you're used to just one shotting everything.
