Honestly? It's okay
>Monster and move cuts don't mean anything for minute-to-minute gameplay
>Wild area feels larger than it looks, raids are going to be great when multiplayer becomes a thing
>Graphics are pretty great, THAT TREE notwithstanding. I feel like the game has gotten an unfairly bad rap for them
>Story sucks, but the last Pokemon game with a good story was almost ten years ago, so w/e
I feel like, in a year or two, the only thing anyone's going to care about is the competitive scene anyway, and with its QOL improvements and potential for active support, these are the best games for that possibly ever. By itself, the game is a 6/10, but as a competitive player, I'm genuinely excited to see how the scene shakes out
