>>41183975Rose is the bad guy because he's using people and Pokémon for his own gain, duh. He doesn't care about the sport and just wants money and power. This version of Rose would have control over the whole region. His company is a front for something far more sinister... And illegal.
While hints are given about is true intentions here and there, the big reveal of his vileness would begin with the disappearance of Leon entirely. You don't have time to investigate the matter because of Champion duties. But, somehow, you find out that the League is rigged and you decide you must do something about it, for the sake of the people under Rose's boot and the Pokémon League as a whole. The only way to do that is by defeating Rose and exposing the League for what it really is. Of course, this is no easy feat. When you confront Rose, he just admits to everything, smirks, and allows you to battle him. In this battle, he utterly curbstomps you, despite his Pokémon being the same level. You realize quickly that your Pokémon never gained any real experience.
Of course, Rose can't have you around while you know about the truth... So he decides to get rid of you.
>"It is regrettable that I have to release my newest star... Oh, well. There are many more Trainers with "potential!"He sends you back home where you notice lots of men from Rose's company guarding the place, keeping you from leaving. Rose informs the Galar people that the newest Champion has to leave the title up for grabs because of "unfortunate circumstances." You find Leon there, who is having a bit of a breakdown. He's crushed by the fact that his whole career was a lie. He's also fucking pissed at Rose and wants nothing more than some revenge.
The two of you are going to do some real-deal Pokémon training and figure out how to expose Rose for the criminal he really is, which'll probably involve the box legendaries' help. But first, you've got to find a way out of here...
