>>41195808Up until BW2 I was of the opinion that gen wars were dumb because the last generation was always better than the last. Always significant additions to the mechanics, features, and content of the games. You had held items, breeding, then abilities, natures, the physical/special split, hidden abilities... the battle frontier, the GTS, the join avenue, medals, habitat dex, and it goes on and on.
It felt like a ride upwards all the way from gen 1 to 5, at least to me.
Then the 3DS era happened and shit fell so fast that at the time my biggest disappointment, XY, feels like the best Pokemon game I have played since it came out. Hell, after playing SWSH for 30 hours, I think god damn LGPE is a better game.
Really, to me things have taken such a turn for the worse so quickly that my rankings for the gens are now:
