Honestly, compared to the others? This game's probably in the 4-6 range, with a 7 if being generous. There's some good new stuff, and of course, all the good old stuff but the low points are pretty low.

I bought the hate train enough that I tried unsuccessfully to return my pre order, but I ended up playing non-stop since midnight, currently close to 7am. It's so much better than Sun/Moon, and the quick access to the wild area will be great for replayability especially since types are generally grouped together. It'll be really easy to run and grab obscure shitmon like delibird for fun runs. No issues with pop in or shitty graphics for me yet either, apart from those trees that are memed everywhere. Even the mine doesn't look as bad as the stills posted here. I guess pop in will be way worse when on a bike, but I haven't gotten that far yet. I've just been hanging out and catching what I can (I think I'm at around 50-60 caught).

If you take the game as "another pokemon game" without taking into account its on the switch and had 0 expectations going into it, its better than Sun/moon but with a cut dex

Even with a cut dex, it feels like there's a lot more initial variety than the average pokemon game. You can head straight to choose from multiple ice types etc almost straight away, so you can quickly set yourself up with a varied team instead of being forced to run with the standard rodents+birds.

Up to you, you don't really need to care about Natures and IVs for the Story in Pokémon and the Tower is supposedly the easiest it ever been.

For Online there is Caps and Nature Mints available in the "Post-Game", so just pick what nature you think sounds better, chances are you gonna replace your Starter for a HA one once those release anyway.

SM had actual areas to explore, like Poni Canyon. Besides the wild area which is just flat ground, there is actually, unironically nowhere you can sidetrack in SwSh. Hell, do you know what passes for an evil team base to explore in this piece of shit when SM had both the Shady House and Aether Paradise?

One hallway with three short battles if you consider team Yell, and one elevator with three short double battles for the other bad guy

Why would anyone do this, when they charge Switch-Game price for it? If they want us to ignore the fact that it's a graphically upscaled 3DS game, then they should charge 3DS price.
