Let's ignore issues like NatDex for a second and instead talk about how much of a fucking downgrade the main campaign is from USUM. Because jesus, the latter at least had some well designed boss fights and was engaging enough when you turned off exp share and didn't grind. Now you can't even turn off the thing, the whole game is an absolute steamroll. They even tried to add some gimmicks to the gyms this time only to execute them horribly.
