Couldn't give less of a shit about dex cut, if I want to use older mons I can just play older games like I usually do
Hidden Power was broken as hell, and gave hackers a huge advantage in competitive pokemon not like I used hidden power while playing anyways
I have plenty of shiny hunting to do, and pokedex filling: my usual postgame routine
The game is literally meant for children, if you want to make it harder, play a rom hack like the rest of the people pirating the game, or just nuzlocke the game
Game looks fine to me, all I really care about is the pokemon models looking good, which they do

I can see why people might dislike the game though. Personally, however, I see no issue with the game as is, and am extemely excited for when my copy is delivered from amazon soon

Got 5 badges before putting the game down as I want to avoid the bricking bug the game can apparently do.
Anyways, play time was about 10h20m purposefully skipping as many wild battles and trainers as possible, and spending some time in the wild area to fight dynamaxed mons(exp is given in form of candy pieces so no need to worry on over leveling)
I can only assume people fast clearing are just killing everything in sight and exp share is carrying them, which is still a fucking stupid mechanic, but it's not like you can't circumvent it

Yes, you're correct. That's not a catch-all excuse for making shitty games though. Especially since the series has a sizeable teenage and adult fanbase since genwun came out 2 decades ago. Hell, the excuse especially falls flat when B2W2 had a hard mode option. Other Nintendo games like Zelda and Fire Emblem have difficulty selects. Why not Pokemon? It would barely take any effort to implement.

Hidden Power, being only 60 BP and special, is only really useful for covering really important gaps in coverage - for example, carrying Hidden Power Fire to deal with Ferrothorn.
It should be noted that, in the case of that example, Fire is their only weakness. Without Hidden Power, people are forced to carry special attackers that naturally know fire type moves, which are often subpar - which indirectly buffs these pokemon. Ferrothorn was already a very powerful pokemon in the metagame, and so the removal of Hidden Power has only made Ferrothorn more powerful, thus contributing to unbalance.

the challenge mode loss is a genuine thing I agree on you with. I've been asking for challenge mode to return since XY, it's far and away my favorite aspect of BW2. Though, challenge mode didn't really make the game much more difficult in my opinion. Blaze Black 2 is how I would have wanted an actual challenge mode. To be honest, most of those people have extremely low standards. I don’t think those adult fans specifically would have any issues with SWSH, it’s the adults who have been playing since the Gameboy era that are the most critical (for good reason).

SS has done the exact opposite. Now everything is a TM.
Besides, I really don't think having wide coverage is bad if your coverage option is notably weak. This isn't gen 3 anymore, you generally want 90 BP for any given move, so Hidden Power being so weak easily counteracts its freeform nature.

Thanks for having a genuine counterargument, really. I had a feeling someone would catch onto my half baked point. I agree though, the games should try to cater to an older audience to some degree, but I haven't played the games yet, so I can't make a significant enough point to it's one way or the other. but like I said in >>41199308 , I think all pokemon games could do well with a challenge mode, but for now I'm going to settle with just the basic difficulty, and possibly nuzlocking the game down the line

Those people are why LGPE was made. It wasn't for kids, it was for adults who got on the GO bandwagon and didn't know shit about videogames.

I always end up mixing new and old pokemon i like in post game for teams and run around the region again to complete that regions dex without story interuptions.

I agree. And as you said. Challange mode really should be a thing again. Especially from the start of the game.
Its baffeling they havnt brought it back since BW2. Especially in a game they said was for long time fans. Then again theyve said many things this time around that whernt true.

There are so many unique pokemon in raid battles so I ended up doing those for a few hours and got about 15-20 mons in my dex. When I dumped the candy I got he reached all the way to 35.

Move relearner in each center
TMs, now some moves are "TR"s which are single use. Earthquake for example is a TR
Then the basic stuff is still there, like your bike, fishing rod(consolidated to one rod which you start with) you can fly without a tm, get the option after the first gym. Random trades are apparently still in base don the ycomm menu but obviously can't test it yet, same with online trades (GTS is gone but it's basically just rebranded/new menus)
Uhhh idk ask about other stuff that's off the top of my head from my playthrough(5 badges)

It really pains me to say that I'm enjoying this game more than I did the 3DS games at any point. If they just hadn't cut the national dex I'd have no complaints because I expect half assed graphics and animation from Game Freak.

I hated Rotom with a passion starting with USUM, he was inoffensive in SM. In USUM he'd pop up after literally every fucking battle, which is the worst because sometimes during a battle I'd just stop caring about the game and want to know what the fuck I needed to get to next, but the asshole Rotomdex just decides he wants to tell me that he's goin to tell me something completely worthless (direct quote) and blocks my ability to see the fucking map for a good 20 seconds until he shuts the fuck up.

The GTS is probably going to be baked into Home for maximum jewery. Or anti-jewery depending on if Home needs a subscription like Bank did.
