The game's autosave deletes entire switch's save data. That's apparently a bug that only happens with digital versions, not just pirated copies.

Pirates should be untouched because they have a physical dump and can restore backups.
Those with psychical should mostly be safe.

Incorrect. Pirate copies are less likely to have issues due to being dumps of the physical game and haxed switches using fat32 by default.
