its pretty terrible but still enjoyable. I got my switch 2 years ago just for pokemon so I think its worth it although when i got it i was expecting a lot more. Buy a used model that is hackable so you can play around with things other than pokemon tho

if you have any irl friends, the switch is already worth it just for smash and mario kart. thrown in mario odyssey and zelda breathe of the wild and you already doing well. sword and shield are fine pokemon games, if you liked the last few titles then you'll like this one as well.

Not really.
But if you're gonna get it anyway buy a physcial copy.
The digital one could corrupt your save data and make your redownload everything, at the very worst brick your switch.

There are reports of the game deleting data for all your games on the Switch, corrupting your SD card, and/or bricking the Switch. However, as far as I know, people still aren't sure if it's because of the games themselves, or something else.

if you're not expecting Skyrim and have enjoyed the recent Pokemon games, then yes it's a perfectly passable and enjoyable Pokemon main game that even does a few things new (I'm talking about the QoL changes and Wild Areas).

It's not the game we deserved, and it's not the best they could of made, but its here. Play it and hope Gen 9 is better.

PS: To anwser the question, if you are a big Pokemon fan, yes, its worth getting a switch for

The open world is something that pokemon hasn't done before. It's a completely new experience. It breaks out of the standard formula, and the dex changes aren't noticeable
