He probably would have gone out of his way to make sure this was publicly acknowledged on all of Nintendo's official channels globally as soon as the issues were confirmed so that consumers were aware, especially those who purchased digitally, and get working with Game Freak on a patch to get it out asap. And that's assuming he would've let these games release in their current state in the first place, as there's plenty of issues with the quality of the games even before this issue, and the fact that storage is being affected tells me this might have stemmed from an optimization issue of either the game itself or the drm on the eshop version that had a janky solution slapped in. Sure, sometimes there's unforeseen issues that don't present themselves until it hits a wider userbase than internal testing can provide, but it's how those setbacks are handled that really matters once the damage is done.
