Pretty ripe with possibilities if you made it Mexico + entirety of South America

So you've got your deserts and plateaus up north, your verdant tropical coastlines, plenty of opportunity for islands and water routes (easter island expy), deep amazon-like jungle, and the moutainous regions with snowed peaks.

Metric tons of shit to work with in terms of interesting locales, ancient ruins, new pokemon based on native life, legendaries etc.

Johto, Hoenn, Kanto, and Sinnoh are all part of the same nation/continent/landmass

Unova is decidely very far away across the ocean, as are Galar and Kalos

Alola sits by itself in an ocean somewhere

An area of the game based on the Amazon Rainforest could be really interesting
Make it huge, make it very dangerous and difficult to traverse, with rivers and forest winding in on themselves
Could probably drive the entire story if the crux is that there are dozens of new pokemon species waiting to be discovered in there

I don't think they'd want to go this modern geo-political but it seems an obvious motivation for an evil team to want to deforest the area so they can easily and quickly grab all the new rare species

I really have high expectation for the next games, since they took enough time to develop this time.
I'm happy they listened to fans feedback about XY and SM.
Maybe they will also finally add difficulty options?

I'm just a little upset for the lack of news since the announcement back in 2017.

Natu and Xatu are a couple of my favorite Pokémon, Hawlucha is decent as well. I'd be up for something like that. I can see an evolutionary chain based on Aztec or Mayen idols, as well as a shit-your-pants massive spider mon.

Outside of the obvious memes, a region based on Mexico would be actually quite cool, with so much potential like a legendary Colibri Huitzilopochtli pokemon or a real Quetzalcoatl.
Also, a skeleton pokémon.
