I swear the series would've died with Red and Blue if those games had been as """kid friendly""" as nu-Pokemon. They've got it all backwards. Does Game Freak even know anything about their supposed target audience? Do they only know kids with brain damage or something?

Honestly dudes, a lot of games aren't fun these days. Many places in the video game industry have turned into cynical money grabs, relying on manipulative psychological tricks to keep you playing and deepen your investment.
What kinds of games do you anons play? Maybe you should branch out? Take some risks? Find games that are prized for their uniqueness or for their bucking of trends. There is such a selection out there.
Or, like other anons have said, find a new hobby. I'm actually trying to play less games, so I can read and exercise more to become a better person. Games can be fun relaxing escapism, but they don't really add much of value to your life.

The last games I genuinely enjoyed, to the point where I stayed hours playing were Omensight and surprisingly No Man's Sky. For the latter I had never played the original shitty version, I went straight for the upgraded one and holy shit, it's insanely fun.

Most video games bore me to tears, even ones that are high budget or have good mechanics. I would rather do chores than play most vidya. For some reason pokemon has some magic still. Maybe because raising creatures feels nicer than the escapism of walking around in a computerized 3d space. I can't deal with that exp share because it takes much of the dopamine out of making a good Pokemon squad.

They will, it's for them. Pokemon was and still is to an extent for everyone, but it's always for kids first and foremost. They will love seeing the giant pokemon and playing in the camps / wild area.
If you do not like things like the straightforwardness of the maps and amount of handholding, then Pokemon might just not be for you anymore. There is still the competitive scene but I've never cared for that shit. Will stick to older titles and romhacks.

Last game released was Medabots: Girls mission for 3DS and the Classic Medabot Collection for 3DS some time afterwards.
I hear they might make a mobil game soon. But yeah, just enjoy the old games and fantranslations of Medabots.

Last time I enjoyed a Pokémon game was BW2 because I was a happy kid with friends so we played the games together. After that I leave the franchise because I lost such friends. I'm not coming back because Pokémon means nothing to me if I don't have friends to enjoy the games with.
