Yes, kantomons are the most iconic and recognizable, but it's extremely tiring at this point and very few mons from other gens get any sort of love.
Hell, most the mons from the CURRENT gen get glossed over in favor of different forms of kantomons.
Most of gen 8's promotional material has been focused on the regional forms of kantomons, with the gen 8 mons sprinkled here and there.
They're so afraid of that backlash happening again, so insecure in their new creations that they'd gladly take most of the spotlight away from the new mons just to showboat the old ones again.
