I think the universal consensus is that it's bad if they're wild, as they can't hunt for themselves. But as the tails do grow back, and it doesn't hurt them, domesticated ones are okay.

Look at those fossil Pokemon and how they suffer and look at this. Galar is literally just backwards compared to other regions which live more in harmony with Pokemon (like Johto).
A similar thing happened in Kalos, which stated Mega evo hurts some Pokemon, and I'm guessing dynamax does a similar thing, as it does come from an unnatural source.
