So since the chances of Giga Corviknight are increased for Shield, will I be able to get it as soon as I get to the Wild Area if I search around enough? Or am I gonna have to wait longer into the game for its raid to unlock?

I really don't mind that - I just want it for my main playthrough desu. It's a neat design (and the fact that Giga Appletun is locked to postgame)

Can someone explain how the raids work?? Are gigantamax pokes really locked til endgame?? I wan hoping to get drednaw early and i got a different colored pillar at the first wild area but it was just a trapinch

I think you can only get gigantamax forms from Corviknight raids, ie the pre-evo can't have the capacity to giganatamax. Corviknight's raids are like level 50+, and you can't catch mons of that level until gym 6.

Just got a 1-star raid against Butterfree so Gigas aren't post/end-game locked.
Didn't manage to catch it though, it's actually not 100% and I haven't even left the Wild Area after the first visit yet so no good balls.

Unless you have friends that are willing to do raids with you then don't bother attempting the actual good ones (5+ stars) until you have a very high level overpowered pokemon.

The AI is absolutely retarded. The game will force AI trainers on you that carry not fully evolved grass pokemon when you're up against a level 80+ Ninetails in the sun with a 4 faint limit to fail the raid. The max pokemon is smart enough to target the weak mons first so it doesn't matter what you bring if you can't brute force it to death fast.
