You're supposed to grow out of Pokemon just like you grow out of Dora the Explorer and Telletubies. How do you think Pokemon maintained >10 million sales every gen? It's by catering to casuals and babbies. They grow up, and skipped a generation or two and then come back for some nostalgia.

Pokemon would not make any dimes catering to neckbeards audience. See the absolute state of fighting games (minus smash), Devil May Cry, SMT (got cucked by Persona), anything Platinum makes, and even Digimon (LOOOOL) etc.

All these ""hardcore"" games struggle to sell half of what Pokemon does. Street Fighta 2 sell a lot of copies in 1992, beloved by casuals and hardcore alike, the franchise cater to the hardcore by encouraging combos, parry, FADC, and other nonsensical jargons that require a dictionary to translate, and now look at where Street Fighter is at. Not drawing any dimes and closer to death than it was during the 3rd strike - 4 vanilla gap years.
