I would honestly forgive almost everything if Gamefreak allowed Pokemon Home to allow for Battles on top of the already stated Trading. I would probably buy Sword/Shield for Breeding, but battle and stuff on my phone.

it's a service that you're forced to use in order to legitimately transfer pokemon, a procedure that shouldn't require an on-going service.

It never even facilitated transfer between systems, since DS->3DS used transporter and 3DS->Switch is going to be using Home.

I use PKSM on 3ds to store my mons locally on my sd card. it's even more feature rich than bank which is pretty sad. don't think I'll ever care enough to move my Pokemon forward. if you aren't starting from scratch and only using new Pokemon you're playing the games wrong
