Because while you can have fun with mediocre Pokemon game....they will not improve.

They will see you buying it as an endorsement to make a worse product. Even you can notice that it got worse than previous games, and it will only show them that you are okay with that.

Congratulations, you just described the minimum of any of the Pokemon games, but this is the most mediocre entry by far. Why would you willingly play the worst entry if you want the same experience you could get from any of the mainline games?

why even buy the games anymore at this point? youre not getting improvements. the settings are all generic urban shit with a few tourist attractions shoved in, the structure is always the same, most new designs are derivatives of older designs they cut. now the games lost the one thing that set them apart from other monster games.

the sheer complacency is disgusting.
people are just going through the motion and I doubt that they are truly ever excited while playing these games despite their claims because they literally did all that crap in the past already.

You will realize how bad it is when you beat the last 3 gyms and the league in 10 minutes and there's nothing else to do.

You can have fun with a mediocre game. Sonic Adventure is a prime example of that I'm not going to stop people enjoying SWSH, but I will shit on the games because it's clear they were rushed, and I want Pokemon to at least be up to the quality it once was.
Part of me knows it never will be and that the games probably aren't for me anymore, but it's hard to accept.
