A) Ignore upper versions (Crystal, Emerald, Platinum, and Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon)

B) Ignore special editions (Blue and Yellow)

C) Ignore remakes (FireRed/LeafGreen, HeartGold/SoulSilver, Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire)

D) Ignore derivate games (Let's Go: Pikachu/Let's Go: Eevee)

Thus, rate Red/Green, Gold/Silver, Ruby/Sapphire, Diamond/Pearl, Black/White, Black 2/White 2, X/Y, Sun/Moon, and Sword/Shield.

Good, fun GB games. Just comfy all around.

Bigger and better GB games, even though the level curve and Pokémon distributions are shit.
>Ruby/Sapphire
Good, fun GBA games. Compared to other GBA games I played back then I’d say they were solid enough.
>Diamond/Pearl
Good, albeit slow, fun DS games with enough content to pour hours into. The slowness never bothered me so I like these a lot still.
>Black/White
Good, fun DS games with enough content to pour hours into. I like them more than Diamond/Pearl, the atmosphere is just better imo.
>Black 2/White 2
Legitimately the best games in the series, tons of content and polish, World Tournament is god, Challenge Mode is goat, you know the drill. Not sure why we’re allowed to rate these when we can’t rate games like Platinum.
>X/Y
Kinda expected more after Gen 4-5, they don’t have much for you to do. Lacks content. Comfy, wish they lasted longer.
>Sun/Moon
Endless cutscenes, first two islands feel like one giant tutorial, first time main characters actually pissed me off (Hau anf Lillie). Again, not much in terms of content. Don’t like replaying them.
>Sword/Shield
Same with Sun/Moon except now the games are also bad on a technical level and even easier than ever before in the franchise. Boring. Hop can go die.

It’s interesting how you’re inclined to write longer explanations with games you don’t like.

Well, Subjectively:

Really enjoyed those, I really liked the post game too
>G/S - 9/10
Really good games, I enjoyed them a lot, tho they aged a bit
>R/S - 8/10
Not as good, but still decent games, tho I'm biased since they were my first
>X/Y - 8/10
Games gets a bit more flack than they deserved, I particularly loved amie tho, so that might be the reason
>R/G - 8/10
Good games still, had quite a lot of fun, the freedom you had in those games is unmatched and I love it
>S/M - 7/10
Not that bad, but really unfinished, still had some fun tho
>D/P 7/10
Good games with some great quality of life improvements but they were slooooow, in more than one way, in fact while everyone seems to remember how long the battles took and how slow you moved sometimes it's the pacing that really screw this game over
>S/S 4/10
A surprising downgrade, still loved them a lot, but severe technical issues including a freeze that costed me half an hour of progress made me dislike them much more that I thought I would
