I have a few recurring nicknames that keep getting reapplied, in fond memory of old playthroughs:
Umbreon/Espeon -> Roy/Rey (I don't fucking remember why, I was like 10yo when I first played Gold)
Arcanine -> Solaire (since HGSS due to sunny day, totally unrelated with Solaire of Astora which wasn't a thing yet)
Combusken -> Hen Pearce (a pugilist called the game chicken)
Squirtle -> Aubrey (because Testudo Aubreii from O'Brian's novels)
Togepi -> Benedict (because food)
Sudowoodo -> Half Mast (because pseudo woody)
