The netcode is so shit that it will eventually brick your switch if it has a bad NAND (which is highly likely because every other dev avoids using it because of known issues with it), play with auto save off and in airplane mode until the netcode isn’t a literal time bomb

Painfully mediocre game that has tremendous lack of polish that deservedly gets picked apart.
Later it was found that the game's programming is so shit that it can erase your game data from your SD card forcing you to redownload everything, cause the Switch to crash, or hell, even brick it.
It even affects devices completely unrelated to the Switch.
This game has been the very definition of "It keeps getting worse".

Its a slightly below average pokemon game that can brick your switch. Also its $20 more. I honestly can't think of a worse scenario but everyone is buying it anyway which makes me think some of you fuckers are brain washed. Yes it has some enjoyable moments here and there but you can't build a argument that the game is good overall with so little material.

The biggest thing I keep hearing from people is that the game "is fine for a pokemon game" which does NOT bode well for the games future. When someone says a game "is fine" we often look back at it years later with disgust and how awful the entire experience was.

Y'all aren't consumers anymore your just fanatics with a addiction. You don't even care if its good anymore you want more because you programmed yourself to whore yourselves out for it.

Pokemon Sword and Shield are Pokemon Games. This is their only selling point. They've done nothing unique or outstanding or memorable with their formula. They put on some bells and whistles but at the end of the day they're just Pokemon games.

The major power behind these games are FOMO (fear of missing out) that a lot of the consumer base basically couldn't break free from because their own lives lack any real meaning or satisfaction that the thought of missing out on playing 1 GAME while it was brand new and able to be played with a large community playing seemed like a negative impact on their lives.

The issue here is that these cycles of "it's just a Pokemon game" are slowly corroding the fanbase. The large thing is that the fanbase is 50/50 kids and adults now. The problem here is that with each of these cycles, of "It's just a Pokemon game" you erode more adults from thinking Pokemon is special, and kids don't care that it's Pokemon. Kids only care if things are fun and Pokemon hasn't done anything to let it reach children the way it did in the PokeMania era in ages.

So Pokemon games will continue to be Pokemon games until nobody cares about Pokemon. It happened to Disney films, it happened to Square Enix. It's the natural end state where there'll reach a point where people just don't care because the people behind the games don't care about making something more than "just a Pokemon game"

The sad thing is that the people who support the games unconditionally are the ones most likely being hurt the most because they're just delaying the positive change the franchise needs.
