Due to customisation, the MCs come in pieces in their own folders, separate from the rest of models. To create the MC you have to put together their pieces: Hat, Hair, Eyebrows, (Eyelashes), Eyes, Face, Top, Gloves, Bottom, Socks, Shoes, and Bag.

Seems like I should've taken Anon's word on it, there doesn't seem to be any default models for just the base MC so it seems like I'd have to reassemble it all, so I'm not sure I can do it today

Dunno how Maya works, but in Unity you select the material and change it from transparent to opaque or cutoff. Dunno if that helps, but it's something.
