Every first game is rushed since Gen 4.
And Gen 6 on takes this to an extreme. Like they started developing a much more expansive game up front and rushed the end. I mean, they admitted as much in Gen 4 and again in 7 in interviews with the trials admittedly being shoved in last minute by Ohmori and a couple randos with basically zero support.
X/Y is the sterling example of this though. Quick and simple beginning, with the first Gym done pretty quick, then there's like a 3 hour gap if you're playing through casually until Gym 2 with 4 through 8 being basically nothing done in another 4 hours total.
Which is just further frustrating. You see up front they're capable of not making a piece of shit and that they know what's right but refuse to take their time in the end.
