What's the best set up for doing the raids solo? The npc allies are taking all the lives in the first two rounds.

Do moves like perish song work?

The allies are strong enough until 4-5* raids. You can boost their power a bit by using a level 100 pokemon (they get lvl 70).

For specific scenarios
>Lightning rod to prevent electric terrain
>Grassy terrain to weaken earthquake
>Throat chop to stop boom burst
>Clear smog to prevent minimize / swords dance
>etc.

Yeah I was referring to 5 stars specifically and I am using a lvl 100 mon, but the npcs still make the battles take multiple attempts due to some kids clefairy dying 3 times.

Maybe I just need to gitgud.

Some of them are just rng with npcs. You should save before hard ones so that you can just close the game faster than playing out a bad fight.
