On the topic, is anyone else really put off by the fucking REGION CHAMPION always hanging around you?

They pulled it in SM as well and ok I guess it was a twist even though everyone saw it coming but Diantha did it too. How come everyone in the first ten minutes also happen to be the only important cast of the game? Why the fuck would he hang out at some scrub's house when they're just starting out?

My guess is he went home to get Hop onto the journey, then went through the region with all the challengers because they had to go to gyms in a certain order.
