The textures are almost exactly the same. At best they just use less compressed ones.

The more obvious change is the lighting system and resolution. Both of which would automatically be applied to all models in the game.

The game still generates them when Shiny locked it just ignores Shiny frames if that's what it lands on.

A Shiny you didn't see as Shiny is still a lost Shiny under the hood.

Depends. I know a few models had irrelevant changes to them (sometimes actually less polygons, notably Noibat for example) but that can help things look a little better for very little effort. In the end though that's just it, they thought the models and textures were fine. And for the most part they are, this isn't a Stadium-to-Revolution Crobat that's just wrong and awful. But they apparently claimed they were fixing various shit so who knows what the fuck actually happened. Hell, somebody got Bulbasaur from Let's Go half working in a couple hours while having no idea what he was doing.
