They have basically the same problems but cranked up to 11, and I'm afraid it will spread to other areas of the franchise. If the backlash continues (as it probably should) I can see them rushing through merchandise to get to whatever the next game is, especially if they continue with yearly releases.
But I think Snom could be like the Goomy of gen 8, it has a simple body and is already pretty popular already. And Goomy got a whole merchandise line. Who knows.
