So for shiny chaining, do you need to catch mons to increase the chain (like LGPE) or can you simply beat them? Also, does anyone know what breaks the chain? Was trying to hunt Mudbray by catching them for the longest time, but switched to defeating them. Not sure if I can get away with killing 25 of them and just running away after that to save pp.

They'll say how they feel (such as if they like the environment, or if they're full and happy), and say how they get along with the other mons in your party. If you can get two mons in talk range at the same time, you can get both their feelings towards each other. None of my main team seems to like one another. You can also play with a couple toys, but not pet for some reason. Your Pokemon will also interact with each other. I've seen mine having conversations with one another, and race each other. My Minccino also has brought me a gift (a pearl I think) so you can get things from them sometimes.
