So, I'm neither on the DEXIT LET'S KILL GF or the THIS GAME IS THE BEST OMG crew. I just want to give you guys an honest review from an oldfag pokemon fan. Mainly I want to answer some questions that I had that nobody seemed to be able to answer.
>How is it?
Honestly, it's a good time. I went in expecting it to be complete garbage somehow worse than sun and moon and in my opinion is was slightly better than X/Y (though that's not saying much, I guess).
The game overall felt unfinished. I feel like they were working on something beautiful when the coorporate executives told them to work 12 hour shifts and get this done ASAP with strict deadlines on threat of being fired. There was a lot of heart in this game but it just felt rushed. It appears that a lot of towns were meant to be bigger and there are a lot of empty rooms/space where things should have been. It was an eerie feeling to be honest. I saw so much heart in this game but it was covered with blatant mediocrity almost around every turn. The ending saved it in my opinion. I get why some people trash on it, but I thought the ending was very satisfying and unexpected.
>Dynamaxing?
Dynamaxing is basically something to take place of Z moves and Megastones. Basically, it gives your pokemon a pretty massive statboost and changes their move pool to a much stronger version based on what type of move you have. I guess kind of like Z moves? I literally forgot how those worked. I think it is a healthy change for competitive and it definitely opens up some diversity with every pokemon having the potential to become a killer for 3 turns if its cornered. I am going to miss megas but I'm glad that every pokemon now has a potential threat. It's no longer "if" but "when" if that makes any sense.
