It might be bricking Switches, the reports are there but nobody's sure if they're really connected or just badly timed coincidence.

They're being dumb and just reporting on a misconception involving one guy's SD card corruption. There's been a lot of people suffering SD card and Switch malfunctions from playing the game, at least a couple a which have deleted save data indirectly.
