I'm so fucking angry. This series is NEVER going to change because the tasteless NPC masses are so easily swayed by muh nostalgia and muh cute. Game Freak will milk it dry with the bare minimum quality for the rest of its existence. Face it, the Pokemon games now only exist to sell merch. We are NEVER getting the heights of Gen 4 back. It's fucking OVER.

Pokemon has literally never been good outside of the multiplayer though. The single player has always been middling. Always

Yeah the new games are lacking but I genuinely dont think it's the giant betrayal everyone here is making it out the be. It's just a mediocre, slightly sub par game in a series of otherwise very average games

this whole thing has made me really blackpilled on "voting with your wallet" in general
my $60 doesn't matter, and I'm never going to convince enough people not to buy to have an appreciable impact. The only time it affects the bottom line is when it's bad enough the normies can't ignore it (The Last Jedi, Anthem, etc.) and actually get turned off of the media BY the media itself. So I might as well just buy what I feel like buying.

There are less switches in circulation than 3DS not to mention sumo got to ride GO hype. If the attachment rate is near the same Nintendo and Gamefreak will be satisfied.
