I caught mine in the wild area as a rare overworld encounter, it just slides along the ground in the tall grass. It's fucking weird

Overworld. It and Dreepy are reincarnations of extinct species, and Galar used to be underwater in prehistoric times. So their ghosts "swim" around.

It literally is referring to it from thousands of years ago, not modern day climate change.

They’re going for a “Galar used to be underwater but this area is a desert now” thing. The Corsola you find there are remnants of the long lost underwater part.

This is correct, the corsola dont actually have branches, they’re transparent and ghostly ingame. Looking at a still image of galarian corsola doesn’t really do the design any favors
