It’s extremely convoluted, but I managed to do it pretty quickly after catching a Yamask. That said, I had to heal it and battle with one of the Wild Area Pokémon since the game didn’t count the 49 damage (exactly) I dealt to it right before capturing it.

It more for the lore behind it in my opinion it has one of the coolest evolution methods for the lore of it all ugh i hate how 50 percent of pokemon dex or pokemon history/lore will go unsolved

I don't understand WHY he evolve like this either. Like other pokemon have had weird or tedious evolution method before but they made sense lore-wise. Why does Yamask have to be damaged to evolve? What's special about that stone? I read both dex entries and I don't get it.

Yamask's stone is basically the keystone of the Runegrigus body (even if not an an arch) and is also the one in the middle since it has the source of power.
