How the fuck are you supposed to deal with gigantamax pokemon?

>Super effective moves do jackshit to it

>Nobody online joins the battle
>NPC's pokemon get one shot or finished by sandstorm leading to getting kicked out in 5 turns

also seen ppl attack through the barrier but cant find any info online on how ppl do it.

To begin with use bulky types that resist them.
Go with something like a Ferrothorn instead of that frail duck against that.
It's good to use boosting moves like Iron defense, Bulk up, Coil, etc and recovery moves.

its not really about what pokemon i use, its more of the npc pokemon or if i could even get someone to join, my teammates pokemon.

but probably ignoring it to buff up before it sets up its barrier would work slightly.

The NPCs that join you in raids are the absolute worst. Even random people online who only have 2 gym badges are more useful because they at least attack.

Dude just make 100 lvl pokemon and take it to raids. It can beat any 5star raid even offline with stupid AI. I did it with my Rillaboom

Is it just me or do you have an extremely low catch rate in other people's raids?
When I do a raid on my own with CPU I can basically chug any ball at all and it always succeeds and when I join a raid online it just doesn't give a fuck and flees instantly.

They purposely made the NPCs super shitty to force you to play with others, but you're lucky to get more than 1 person to join you when matchmaking.

Get your Pokémon to 100. It doesn’t matter if it’s a shitmon or even type effective. Getting to 100 makes the helper Pokémon be level 70 so they don’t get one shot.

It's probably the worst supporter you get. Funny enough, Clefairy and Togepi (when it doesn't Life Dew at full health) are probably the most useful of the NPCs from my experience. They at least feel like they were designed to work with raids and have Focus Sash to last longer.

The game was designed in an incredibly stupid way. They present you with the wild area right at the start and even send you back at the halfway point. The INTENT is for you to do a shitload of raids but use NONE of the candies until you get to the postgame so that you can use them at that point and enable your team to take on the hard ones.

The fucking problem here is that they do NOTHING to telegraph this to the player at all. Everyone ends up either sprinting through the wild area not doing a single raid or doing a bunch and ending up with overleveled teams for the story that due to scaling EXP still can't take on endgame raids.

I actually think the NPC trainers are there to make the raids MORE difficult. I was fighting a sandaconda and a torkoal had drought. Said torkoal got 1 shotted the first turn. I was able to get the sandaconda down to where 1 shot from a water attack would kill it. Torkoal suddenly revives, brings drought, then gets 1 shotted again. And when an NPC trainer faints twice, it DOES count as 2 pokemon fainting

Helping Hand allows a Dynamax move hit through the barrier. So you do need a friend for that.

That's because they are probably doing raids with friends. If I could make a lobby I would. If we don't have 4 people though we always keep rooms open to give others the chance to get in.
