Did they change the way EVs work in SwSh?
I'm trying to evolve Tyrogue into a Hitmonchan and am grinding on Metapod for the defense EVs, but it's defense does not seem to increase. EVs used to compile after every battle. What changed?

You need 4 evs for 1 stat point at level 100.
At lower levels it won't be visible until you have lots of EVs.

I'm still gaining Defense EVs you can tell on the status screen, but the stat is not increasing

EVs don't affect stats if the Pokemon is too low of a level.

From memory I think Caterpie was HP, therefore, Metapod is too, go for rock types, those are usually defense.
