you explore almost entire map through your playthrough alone
there's hardly anything left to discover
moving to 3d has significantly reduced the content games can offer
b2w2 felt like an incredible, complete, and polished game
everything after has been half assed

The battle tower used to be the 100-floor Rose tower. They could have made each battle take place on a different floor on the elevator with challengers emerging from the doors like opponents in the story did, with the hundredth battle taking place on the roof. I was unironically looking forward to the Battle Tower in the postgame just because of how neat the Tree was in SM (never finished USUM) yet they managed to fuck that up as well.

It's not. You shouldn't give games a free pass for their flaws because they're the "first versions". Doing so means you've been conditioned into expecting and accepting an inferior product knowing that it'll receive a refined iteration for full price.
