You know what's really lazy? Looking at something, seeing that it will cause you problems and then instead of taking the effort to fix it (even if said effort is completely minimal) you just keep on going because you're too scared or can't be arsed to do anything about it.
These games have so many shitty tedious things that cause GameFreak to have to re-implement them every generation. Evolution items specific to one Pokemon, several locations just for evolving one Pokemon each, one-off tutors like Dragon Ascent tutor, Silvally's 18 fucking memories even though any of the other type-related items would have done just fine. I could keep going on and on about the many things GameFreak have been to lazy to do anything about.
And you know what happened? Do you know what they did instead of trying to polish these games and remove the actual fluff that takes away time they could use to improve the games? They cut the Pokemon. The one thing that mattered. Now they don't have to deal with adding in the megas and z-stones! Hooray, everything is saved!
