>>41349094I started in 2014 after watching 2013 worlds and learning something from there, I had a decent understanding of the format already so it was relatively easy to start, I managed to slap together a surprisingly good (and lucky meta call) sand-rush team and do pretty well right of the bat, so if you haven't watched any VGC, maybe watch some first, search youtube for sword and shield VGC and pick someone you like and watch hes videos.
Also you can just try out the free teams from the Battle Tower, those actually seem quite decent. And when you make your own teams, don't try to do anything too gimmick that requires the opponent to not know the strategy in order for it to work, it needs to work even if everyone and their grandfather knows about it.
