if Game Freak were smart enough to get away with it, they'd tie controversial aspects of the game with the lore in the third games
>sequel, four years later
>International Police is found to be responsible for the lack of National Dex
>They see the regions' powerful legendaries as a threat since they're an easily centralized power source, and used their Fairy/Fighting manmade legendary to both close borders and block certain memories/imagery in the Galar population's common mental associations, such as most legendaries, certain common pokemon and information about the lockdown that could raise a revolution. The player perceives this as glitching, and it's the first sign something is wrong
>They're using that and Galar as a test site of a civilization project centered in competition and tournaments only, who value strategy and loathe power creeps, essentially streamlining the population's life possibilities
>player character is an international police grunt who was born and raised in Galar, and knows nothing of what's going on before the story starts
>five years later, Galar is way more technological-looking. The people in general are way more competitive. The previous player character and Hop are being hunted for having legendaries and finding out the truth, Rose has disappeared for a while and is later found to be captured due to summoning Eternatus
>two contrasting themes: conformism and revolution
>Porygon3 and Missingno are the legendaries and represent hope coming from unexpected places. If they're gonna self-celebrate and create a game for the fans, they gotta fucking do it right
>Main story ends as the International Police's legendary is defeated, and the gone Pokemon reappear one by one. Post-game have us finding out the outside world is in high tensions. The main quest has you rebuilding the Original Dragon in the hopes of stopping the impending world war and also dexnav and other previous features coming back
