>>41389528No he didn't. He read the code as is, and explained what the code did. He was correct, it's just GF coded static mons (most likely accidentally) without that check on them. If you are familial with programming, you can understand how easy it is to assume a line of code is set to the scope of all possibilities, only to find another line further down that was tacked on last minute with no regard for the first line you found.
Hope I made that clear enough, it's a bit of a jumble. Regardless, even if he WAS wrong about it, that doesn't discredit him whatsoever considering he's the lead developer of the most used Switch CFW and has been an expert in the Nintendo hacking scene for years now. You don't just get to denounce everything he says off a mistake, that's just silly. Especially when we're comparing being "wrong" about a line of code to being wrong about THE GAME ELEVATING ILLEGAL PERMISSIONS TO GET ROOT LEVEL ACCESS. Keep in mind, this is actually a good thing for hackers since it's a great potential entrypoint for homebrew on the newly patched hardware. If it was true, we'd already be seeing homebrew bigshots creaming all over twitter about it.
tl;dr - Even if your dentist, who has a near perfect track record prior, was wrong about how severe your cavity was, he still knows a fuckload more about dentistry than anyone else on this board; and it'd be silly for someone to argue otherwise.
