It's not fair bros. Why couldn't we get R/S/E remakes in Generation 5 when the series was at its QOL + Content peak?

Technically he's right, since the 3DS can hardware emulate the GBA. They just never used this functionality except for the Ambassador games.

They were probably planning it. IIRC, Hoenn were the only set of sprites that got a major overhaul from gen 4 to gen 5.

Because RSE didn't need remakes on the DS? We didn't even need ORAS, really. Core Pokemon at that point hadn't changed enough for remakes to really make substantial difference in quality. Gen 3 onward saw a huge overhaul of gameplay mechanics and technology, so it made sense to redo the GameBoy games and bring them up to speed. Aside from satisfying zoomer nostalgia, it would've been kinda pointless.
