game balance. Balancing almost 1000 pokemon competitively is insanely difficult. As well, one could argue that all of the models for the pokemon, their animation data, and all of the other information that comes along with a pokemon would take up an extremely large amount of space on a game cartridge, but the reason is mainly for game balance and player feel.

They told you a few times but it's pretty clear that it comes down to graphics, animations and wild area...plus the fact that having 900+ mons in a game is becoming less feasible

But they weren't balancing 800+ in the first place, more like 30 or so with the rest just being either illegal or too low-level to compete. And SwSh is still full of shitmons - I'd dream of a game with 400 if they (or even just the final evos) were all viable.

Sorry I grew up with 151 Pokemon and therefore wont cry because some didnt make it. The game is not amazing granted but it holds well enough to not make me regret my pre-order.
