Can the people that like SwSh tell me why in detail?
Everywhere I see people just say it's fun or it's a pokemon game
I want some actual reasons why you enjoy it
The most I can get are some minor things like QoL improvements that seem like nothing compared to the faults no one can deny

I like the new mons, the music, and the atmosphere. There are glaringly obvious flaws, but there’s enough cool stuff in there that it stings just that little bit more. I desperately wish this game was good, but it’s just okay.

I like Wild area, I like the character customization, I like the new Pokemon, I like the updated graphics (game looks good when you aren't staring at wild area tree all day), I like the gym challenges, and I like battling in raids. Dynamax is also surprisingly satisfying, I didn't think I'd like it as much.

What do you like about the wild area?
I was hyped for it but actually playing it's just a really wide route that lags to hell and looks like crap
Also the game only looks good compared to the 3ds games running natively, play other games (except 3h)

This for me mostly. Plus the last 2 gens were my least favorite. The game is far from being great but I like it more the what we've received in the last few years.

HG/SS and BW2 are my favorites for reference

I like that I can be chased by Pokemon or fight stronger Pokemon, also the raids are fun when they aren't low level. The weather effects changing Pokemon and badge limits makes it worth coming back to. Camping and curry is also a nice mini game that gives the game personality. I also haven't had any lag.

As for graphics, I said they look good, not that they're fantastic or next-gen. Just good, as in not a blurry pixel mess like the 3ds or gen 5's ugly moving sprites.

Wild area only lags if you’re playing online and trying to load all the other people. Runs perfectly fine solo.

You understand that's a low bar though right
I found the weather obnoxious both visually and in terms of having to check everyday for a tiny chance at actually getting what I need but I guess it pads the game time
Camping would be great if it didn't replace refresh/amie, let me just do it all
Curry would also be great if it didn't take so many berries that you just give up on it after like 5 gos
I'd easily trade it all to actually have the tiniest bit of exploration

The raids are flat out impossible if you're offline which is half the point of the area
The constant pop in, n64 graphics and weather changing every ten steps are still there offline

I like what they did with the cast of characters. Everyone is fun and the underlying competitive tone since everyone is competing against each other is so cool. The gym and league battles are super intense and make everything all the more fun. The main game is what really hooked me about these games and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Makes me sad the new anime is doing its own thing because it would’ve been super cool to see Ash compete in the Galar League

But even for the main game it's hollowed out, there flat out isn't a story or any journey
It's just the gym, league and rivals
Every other game has something come up every 2 gyms like silph or weather station
I mean it'd be great if team yell and Marnie had an actual arc that filled out the length or that you actually got a hint of the Rose shit by beating some of his guys collecting those stones

Going left instead of right to grab a tm is fucking nothing
Even just a route that isn't a line would be something
For all the shit SM got like 1/3 of the island is completely optional and has shit like zcrystals, rare pokemon and legendaries to find
