However it's also fact that ME is achieved through a strong bond between Pokemon and trainer.
When it comes to the Galar fossils, they probably have their complications, but with a trainer's care they can learn to live and adapt, and as such, can survive on love alone. It's cheesy, I know, but that's just kind of the attitude Pokemon generally has.
