There's a bug that had a failed shiny lock for when you catch it. The first time the AI send it out its shiny locked only for the AI but can be shiny for you.
Because of this quirk, shiny pokemon are possible. If you want a shiny johto starter from colosseum just follow what I did and make sure you got the balls you want. Save in the pokemon center in phenac city before you battle one of the colored trio (Green Blue Red). Then you catch it then check your party if it's shiny. I already did this with croconaw and have a ribbon master for a feraligatr. I'm guess I'm hunting this vibrava because I want at least one colosseum pokemon with all ribbons.
