he stopped working on pokemon after gen 2. the only other thing he did for pokemon was approve the dialogue of fire red and leaf green. not sure why he decided to move away from pokemon after such a short time, especially considering how widely popular it is

Tajiri is Gamefreak's CEO. His net worth is double that of Masuda, who has a net worth of 5 million.

The reason for this is that most of the money from Pokemon doesn't go to Gamefreak; it goes to Nintendo and TPC.

as far as i'm aware, GameFreak and Nintendo both own ~66% of all Pokemon, the other 33.3% is the rest and at least something like ~20% is owned by TPCi. But, i'm not sure...

They cannot afford to have low sales/bad rep, couldn't Nintendo just swap them out and decide "no you don't get to keep doing these games"
