Sinnoh has its creation myths, and I think the entire fanbase really felt them at the time. It didn't feel like "that region's" schtick, it felt like the series expanding its lore drastically, so it is kind of odd when later games mention it as some kind of "Oh, that's Sinnoh's thing, not the rest of the world's". No one in the game is particularly religious.
I wanted to say "pinnacle", because there is a lot of that in Sinnoh. You have the God Pokémon, you have a towering mountain with a legendary peak, you have the far north where it's snowy, you have Garchomp and Lucario with all the spikes and high battle capabilities, etc. It's all about being the tip top pinnacle of everything. But that defines the game's motif more than the overall cultural vibe.
