I'm in a similar boat. My favorite Fighting type went from Machamp to Heracross to Breloom where it stayed for many years. Then it became a tie when Buzzwole was added, and now it's a 3-way tie between Breloom, Buzzwole, and Falinks.

I can't tell you how delighted I was to play Shield without seeing any of the leeks and encountering this guy for the first time. I was so puzzled when I climbed one of those ladders and gazed far off in the distance to see this Wiggler-ass looking motherfucker marching around. I finally approached it, expecting it to be a bug-type caterpillar or something, but when I found out what it really was, I was honestly in amazement for like 15 seconds. Instantly threw him on my team, regardless of the fact that he's actually pretty weak, I mean jeez. But he's still my second favorite gen 8 Pokemon, and potentially one of my all-time tops now.

These little guys and No Retreat made the main game go by way quicker. I genuinely like them a lot and I would love to build a team around them.

Something that kind of strikes me about these guys' designs are that they remind me very much of Paper Mario enemies for some reason. Maybe they remind me of Tubba Blubba's Heart or something. Similarly, the Blipbug line look like they could come out of Mario & Luigi.
All the same, I'm glad that such cool lil dudes exist.
