One pokemon can’t get all the ribbons anymore so that might kill some people’s autism. I’m still planning on getting as many ribbons as I can on the mons they let me though. Not sure if I’ll be able to get that new master ball rank ribbon since I have no idea what its tied to.

On the plus side there can be a defined 100% ribbon completion since it stops at gen 7.

Unless your ribbon bro is pikachu, meowth, eevee line, or charmander line, your ribbon bro will be culled eventually.

Doesn't kill my ribbon master for me, since I still define it as "as many ribbons as legally possible for the pokemon", but I'm glad mine didn't make it in SwSh >implying I'd actually buy this trash The Master ball ribbon seems like BS if I have to carry a NFE pokemon on an online ladder.

My Ribbon bros are Mewtwo, Haxorus, and Charizard, they all made it but one isn't safe for all time and there's no point if even one can't keep up. My not quite as dedicated ribbon bros like Greninja all got the cut though.

delibird hitmontop and a few other shadow mons still can get all of them but who knows for how long

the best bet for someone that just wants to go to all regions is use pikachu eevee and charizard even if they cant get the national ribbon

Pokemon you capture occasionally have something called a mark. It appears alongside actual ribbons and gives the Pokemon a title (like when you send it out, you can make it say "Go Koffing the cloud watcher"). It's not a big deal.

They never could. There have also been ribbons exclusive to gift Pokemon, so you had to choose between something with the purification ribbon or a gift ribbon. Now it's just a choice between those two or a mark. As long as a Pokemon has one of the three, it's still the same total ribbon count.

Ribbons obtainable via gameplay have always been king. Event only ribbons are a nice bonus but are lower on the priority list if you have to pick between event or gameplay ribbon.

Can you even get the Master Rank Ribbon on an old ribbon pokemon? I think the ranked mode restricts you to using Galar born pokemon, and it seems like the ribbon is given to whoever was on your team when you win a Master Rank battle

You can make any Pokemon work for ribbons. You just might have to carry them through the battle facilities, but if someone managed to get a Delibird through everything and get all the ribbons, Quilava/Typhlosion will do just fine.

Just pick a Pokemon you like and have fun with it. It's a good way to explore a lot of the past games' content.

That's not true. You have to grind the money for them, so there's some effort involved.
Weekday ribbons also suck because there are many of them and they all look the same. It inflates one's ribbon collection with low quality, expendable trash.
