>>41395981How about not a whole country next time, every single time we've gotten an entire country/US State it comes off like the tourist trap version of that location rather than the more specific and less exaggerated regions. I know GF's Japan based so obviously it's easier for them to make the Japanese-based regions feel more realistic but they need to realize that when a region looks more like an NSMB Game than a Pokemon Region they've done something wrong. Excluding Route 4's Desert (at least the non-Black 2 variants of it) Unova isn't too bad, so having a game solely based around NYC with elements wasn't too bad.
For the others. Kalos really should've only been a small part of France like either around Brittany and Normandy had the best feel out of the region imo so expanding that out into its own region would be viable alternatively having one that's just the Paris region with bits of Normandy, Picardy, Champagne, Burgundy & Centre Val de Loire would work.
Alola/Hawaii I think they more so need to have expanded out the islands to be much larger, the only islands that felt worth their weight were Melemele and Akala and Akala suffers from being the theme park of the region (designated Water, Fire & Grass areas), but Ula'Ula and Poni were pathetic for islands especially given that Ula'Ula is meant to be the largest island. Also they should've added Oceanic Routes between the islands, you could make them entirely optional by keeping Boat Travel & Mantine Surfing but at least it'd make it feel like the region is larger because you'd have these long stretches of water you could travel across.
Lastly with Galar it should've been based on one small part of England, or a section of Scotland, there is enough natural environment from the numerous rivers and rolling hills, the highlands in Scotland as well as mountains and lakes that you'd be able to actually do a region without the generic shit like obligatory ice level, volcano level, desert, etc.
